I started watching a show called Flashpoint a couple of days ago. I usually don't watch TV, because my schedule isn't flexible enough to allow me to tune in every week at the same time to watch a show. So I'm actually watching Flashpoint online via ctv.ca. CTV is one of the biggest TV networks in Canada and their website allows you to watch full episodes of the shows that they carry on their network. Flashpoint is actually a Canadian show that is filmed in Toronto, Ontario, but it's apparently quite big in the US as well (CBS prime time), but I digress.
What I really want to talk about is how good looking Jules Callaghan is. Jules (played by Amy Jo Johnson --the pink power ranger--for those who remember) is a female sniper and one of the main characters in Flashpoint. I personally think that she's one of the prettiest** chicks on TV right now. **Notice how I used the word pretty instead of hot. I personally think that the word "hot" has a slightly derogatory undertone to it. For instance, I find that skanks/sluts can be hot, but certainly not pretty. Pretty is a word that I use very sparingly in my vocabulary, because it is a very "pure" and classy word that I only reserve to describe those who are truly deserving of it.
So what makes Jules Callaghan so pretty? Well there's obviously the physical aspect: she's got a pretty face and a rockin' body. Yet, there's much more to it than just that. Firstly, her voice is really nice and has a musical tone to it. There really isn't a hint of malice or sultriness in her voice. Then there's her classy demeanor. Hot girls know that they're hot and use it as a tool. Pretty girls know that they're pretty, but try to prove themselves through other means. Jules falls right into the "pretty girl" category. She's the only female member of her team at SRU. She could easily use her sex as a tool to control her male colleagues, but she keeps her booty under the wraps and tries to prove herself through hard work instead. Hmm...I guess that basically breaks down what a pretty woman is: physically attractive, non-slutty and capable.
