9 minutes of epic

Chatroulette at its finest

This guy is a hilarious performer and comedian, but he is also a damn good piano player. I would love to buy his CD if he has one. Time to go google him up.

Where I Belong

I was down in Seattle this weekend for a Christian conference (onething) and I got to see Cory Asbury sing this song live and it was nothing short of amazing... God bless him.

A good way to make money on the side

Ran into an old acquaintance of mine today on the bus and he told me some interesting things while we were catching up. He's currently a full-time student at university and he's making some good money on the side. He's quite handy with programming/tech and he told me about how he's making some dough by building websites for people. He's apparently making a couple of grand per project (3-4k for a typical project) and each usually takes him around 20-40 hours-ish. Makes me think that I should really brush up on some HTML and get a copy of Dreamweaver. Making some good money on the side while working from the comfort of home sounds good to me. It certainly beats frying chicken, gas station work and other odd part-time jobs that I've held.

On a side note, I saw a Ford Fiesta on display in a mall today and it was one hell of a nice car. I took a seat inside and the interior was made out of some high quality components, nothing felt cheap or tacky and the seats were comfy as hell. I personally thought that it was way cooler than my cousin's Honda Fit (no offense if you're reading this).

Even the coolest stars weren't born awesome

George Clooney as a child ( Beatle's haircut + Steve Job's wardrobe = George Clooney?).

The most inspiring thing I've seen this month

Buddy of mine sent me a link to this video and it's inspirational as hell. What do you think of it?

Sony Vaio Z: My first impressions

I took a little bike trip today to stop by some shops to pick up a pokemon game and book for my brother (Eldest by Chris Paolini --my brother's 10 and he's already reading 600+ page books, I'm quite proud of him). Anyways, on the way back I stopped by at the Sony Style store to check out a laptop that I've had my eye on for quite some time: the Sony Vaio Z. I'm a total tech geek (I start off every day by checking my engadget widget on my itouch) and I've been doing some research on laptops for the past couples of weeks as I've been saving up for one for university. The Vaio Z is one of the most powerful machines of its size and the one that I tried in-store was a nice and speedy machine, but the build quality was absolutely atrocious. The screen felt SUPER flimsy. When I was opening the screen of the demo unit, it actually flexed considerably. Granted, most laptop screens flex slightly when you open them, even Macbook Pros with their aluminum screen backings are prone to a little flex, but the Vaio Z's screen was flexing quite a bit. It felt like I could easily snap it in half without trying too hard. I'm definitely not picking up a Vaio Z, a machine like that would quite simply not withstand the wear and tear of being thrown into a bag day in and day out and used as a primary computer for 4 years. After all, surviving 4 years of rigorous university life is the true test of durability for laptops.

On a side note, happy saint patty's day to you all and don't get too drunk. Check yo'selftbefore you wreck yo'self. *Sigh* no drinking for me tonight...I have to work and I have a driving test tomorrow morning.

What's the deal PhillyD?

What the hell Phil? I hope this video is not serious. That's pretty low of you, making fun of other youtubers like that man. Even if you weren't being serious, you can tell by the comments that some of the members of your so called DeFranco nation are really hating on RWJ because of you. Ironically enough, I thought you were a cool dude especially after your march 9th vlog, but this is pretty low. I've been following you and RWJ for a while and as far as I remember, never has RWJ hated on you on any of his vids, so what's up? Why are you just calling people out like that? You seem to have a knack for getting yourself into a bunch of drama (eg. ShaneDawson and TheStation). I dunno, I guess I'm pretty disappointed and I'm definitely unsubbing to all of your channels if I see anymore of this dissing other youtubers crap. Learn a thing or two from Shay Carl, don't hate on others. Shay's got no enemies, everyone loves the guy, can't say the same for you especially after this. I just don't get it and as far as I know, youtubing is your job, why would you not want to be on good terms with RWJ? You probably have all the RWJ fans hating on you now. And crap why am I writing this as if I'm directly talking to you haha, not like you're gonna read this.

update: So according to PhillyD's tweet: "2 those thinking I hate RWJ. Its just a friendly hazing. I'm even hanging out with the dude he's always talkin" He's just dicking around. That's funny though Phil because you have close to a million subs, but only around 100 thousand follow you on twitter, so the other 900 thousand are probably thinking that you really do hate RWJ. Also, your little fan boys are spewing quite a bit of hate on RWJ in the comments section of your vid.

University...I can taste it already :)

Man, it's finally happening. I accepted my offer to McGill today and got a 3k scholarship to boot (covers my first year tuition so I'm pretty stoked about that). Freedom is so close, living on my own in one of the world's greatest cities for 4 years...it's gonna be the ride of a lifetime. I'm gonna have to study my ass off to get into med school, but at least I'll get to do it in a fun and vibrant city. Only a couple of months left of high school...I can taste the air of freedom already.

Shutter Island: The most mindblowing film that I've seen in a long time

I watched Shutter Island with some of my buddies today and boy oh boy it was one hell of a film. The movie is basically a psychological thriller about conspiracies, cops, World War II flashbacks, mental instability and a very interesting protagonist. That's all that I can really tell you without completely spoiling the movie. Props to Martin Scorcese for another thrilling ride. The movie really makes you think and DiCaprio's performance in this film was really top notch. If you haven't done so already, go watch it now.

***MAJOR SPOILER ALERT***

The ending was really interesting and I don't know if I understood it 100%, but I think Andrew played along at the end and pretended to be insane so that they would end his misery. He probably snapped out of his dream world for good and couldn't face living with himself.
